Karen Hinkle, DVM
Dr. Hinkle earned her veterinary degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1990. After years at high-volume suburban Chicago hospitals and her own house-call practice, she purchased Town & Country in 2001 — and has been its heart ever since. She is married to Hospital Administrator Tom Sullivan, and together they have three children, two dogs, and four cats.
Her path to veterinary medicine started with a personal loss: a beloved cat named "Blinstrubus" who developed meningitis. That grief became a calling. "If I learned enough," she decided, "I could save pets like Blinny and ease the pain of families who love them." That conviction has guided every year of her career.
Dr. Hinkle is President of the Mid-State Michigan Veterinary Medical Association and a member of both the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. She also leads the only AAHA-accredited practice in Eaton County.
Outside the clinic she reads, boats, keeps bees, and makes maple syrup. She is honored to serve the families of Charlotte and the surrounding communities.
